I Love A Parade!

Welcome to this new blog, celebrating the American tradition of Thanksgiving parades! America loves a parade, and none more than the ones held at Thanksgiving. After all, they represent the initial kickoff of the Christmas season, the most beloved holiday of them all. Although Thanksgiving seems to take a back seat to Christmas, it's still consider a heartwarming holiday, spent with close family and friends, feasting and giving thanks for our many blessings. No other nation has more to be thankful for, and what a way to show it! Clowns, floats, balloons, marching bands and celebrities. The Thanksgiving parade is a cherished tradition, and without it, it just doesn't seem like Thanksgiving!

The most famous of these parades, of course, is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but many cities celebrate in their own special way. Here we will try to recognize and honor them all. You can start this journey by exploring the list of links for each of these grand events in their respective cities. If there is a Thanksgiving parade in your hometown that we overlooked (or one very close to the day) please contact us and let us know. You can also look forward to posts with videos, images, historical facts, news updates and tributes. So, pull up a seat, grab a warm blanket and a steamy cup of cocoa as we look back on Thanksgiving parades past and those to come!
